"Fat
Brain/Skinny Body" - A lecture that approaches the serious topic of eating
disorders through the humor and wit of comedian, Michelle Garb. Eating
disorders are everywhere and who better to discuss this difficult subject
matter than a recovered anorexic? Michelle Garb is about to help you make
a difference. By discussing this problem openly and with humor, "Fat
Brain/Skinny Body" takes away some of the shame that often accompanies
an eating disorder and paves the way towards recovery. Using her personal
struggle with anorexia as a starting point, Michelle then guides the audience
through the dangers of bulimia and compulsive overeating. The lecture is augmented
with a multi-media presentation that keeps it informative and visually interesting.
The
media continues to dictate and flaunt an unobtainable body image and as a
result, everyone becomes affected; whether it's through a roommate, a girlfriend,
a boyfriend, or even yourself.
"Fat
Brain/Skinny Body" is a great step in the right direction.
Awareness. Prevention. Recovery.
